Elladan/Glorfindel

Leaving the office Glorfindel stretched his back after sitting for so long and smiled easily at Elladan. He felt a little guilty for having the ellon suffer the meeting but not so much that he wouldn’t hesitate to do so again in similar circumstances. Besides, it was good that he learn that sometimes duties needed doing even if they were long and tedious. He felt that Elrond had let his children get away with too few responsibilities for too long given their ages, but he knew why. With Celebrian gone he had indulged them and let them be. He could not blame him for it and would never say anything against his Lord’s actions regarding his parenting. Besides, the peredhil children were fully grown and able to be called to account for their own actions.

He followed him down the corridor and towards the Dining Hall and kitchens, watching with amusement the spring in the others’ step. It seemed the hours spent in the office had done little to dampen his spirits. 

“Of course I can,” he said in answer to the request, “I will practice with you and perhaps let you win a couple of rounds. How does that sound?” He laughed and they entered the room together. 

“You are too kind, my Lord,” Elladan quipped in counteract, an upturn of his lips - oh, so similar to his brother’s - shaping his petals into a sly grin of a sorts. A playful nudge to Glorfindel’s side he offered before striding off in a pace faster than before; perhaps it was to flee the other’s ‘punishment’ as well as the mere fact that the scent of food stimulated his legs to work at a quicker rate than they did but a minute or so ago.

The buffet-like banquet came in sight soon enough; all for lunch was set up. There were breads, Rivendell cheeses and wines, along with thin slices of meat. At least, that was what the ellon’s eyes so quickly picked up on in the spur of the moment. Staff stood nearby, ready to serve as ever. It was as though by now they all knew that the items earlier listed along with whatever fruit the kitchen had selected this day were what Elladan wished to see on his plate upon being handed it by the table.

“Shall we sit on the balcony? The midday breeze appears to be quite pleasant out.”
